Does an ESG screen really accomplish your goals?

ESG screens on a portfolio are the topic of a lot of discussion in the news media. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. These are styles of screens that an investor can overlay on a portfolio to remove or limit the types of companies that they invest in.

While ESG investing can seem enticing, there are some drawbacks and flaws with the ways that companies are scored and therefore screened. Before investing in an ESG fund, you need to perform adequate due diligence in your research of the fund.
